This is a new tearoom in Hanover. The house was built in 1905 by the Forney family, who had a farm outside of town. One of the sons moved to New York, and when he returned to visit, he wanted a more comfortable place to stay than the farmhouse. So he had the Forney House built and later sold it to his brother for $1. Mr. Forney invented a piece of equipment used in high speed trains in New York City and Chicago.
It is a beautiful house with a B&B on the second floor. Diane, the current owner, serves a wonderful tea with soup, salad, savories, and sweets along with a bottomless pot of tea.
Note: There are a total of nine steps to the tearoom. The staff is very happy to help if anyone has mobility issues.
