One of the sons moved to New York\, and when he returned to visit\, he wanted a more comfortable place to stay than the farmhouse. So he had the Forney House built and later sold it to his brother for $1. Mr. Forney invented a piece of equipment used in high speed trains in New York City and Chicago. \nIt is a beautiful house with a B&B on the second floor. Diane\, the current owner\, serves a wonderful tea with soup\, salad\, savories\, and sweets along with a bottomless pot of tea. \nNote: There are a total of nine steps to the tearoom. Her background is in interior design which is demonstrated throughout the house. New Oxford is a lovely town along the Lincoln Highway in Adams County. Many small shops line the street; New Oxford is named the Antique Capital. May is a lovely time of year to explore this site.

DESCRIPTION:COST– $30 for members\, $35 for guests\, inclusive. Maximum 40\, cut-off date—April 10\, 2020 \nWe visited this tearoom in 2017. It is tucked away on the main street of Red Lion. There is street parking with meters ($0.25 for 2 hours). Chef Dani and her staff make everything from scratch. There is a bakery in the tearoom with lots of fresh items. And of course a small gift shop area with tea-related items.

Maximum – 48\, cut-off date—March 21\, 2020 \nThe restaurant was designed with the feeling of life in the trees of the forest retreat of Robin Hood’s band of merry men (Robin of Loxley). The dark stain of the restaurant gives a patina reminiscent of a medieval building. We will gather at 12 noon and tea service will begin at 12:15 pm. Come join us for a relaxing afternoon in Robin Hood’s retreat.
