The tearoom is owned by a mother-daughter team and was inspired by family who were from Yorkshire\, England. In fact\, they use their grandmother’s scone recipe in the tearoom\, which has been featured on PBS. DESCRIPTION:Calling all Royal-tea Club gardeners\, please bring cut flowers in a vase or a potted plant for the centerpiece at your (and others) table. \nSusanna Reppert-Brill\, a fifth-generation herbalist and a tea and tea party enthusiast from The Rosemary House in Mechanicsburg\, PA\, will give the presentation The Victorian Language of Herbs and Flowers after our meal. She and her sister\, Nancy Reppert of Sweet Remembrances\, are the coordinators of the PA Tea Festival and founding members of the Mid-Atlantic Tea Business Association. When not in the shop\, Susanna can usually be found in the garden drinking chai — hot or\, more frequently\, iced. \nThe ever-popular book sale featuring gently-read books and silent auction will be back. So pack up all those books and favorite knick-knacks to bring with you. \nAgain\, this year we will have a catered lunch that will be portion-controlled so there will be enough for all attendees. Our meal will include: Chicken cordon bleu\, scalloped potatoes\, cranberry salad\, mixed vegetables\, fruit cup\, dessert\, iced tea and hot water for hot tea (feel free to bring your own tea bags and favorite tea cup)\, and lemon\, sugar\, and milk. \nLunch will begin promptly at noon\, but we will have helpers beginning at 11 a.m. to unload and cart books and auction items into the hall. \nRemember: We will start collecting dues renewals for 2026 at the luncheon. There are eight steps up to the porch and one step into the tearoom\, but no steps in the tearoom. For those unable to do steps\, there is an electric chair up to the porch. Notify the tearoom staff when you arrive for assistance.\nCost: $46\, club members; $51\, guests/non-members\nReservation deadline: Nov. 25 \nPlease include tea name AND date in memo section of your check. \nTEA ETIQUETTE:\nPlease arrive at the tea room no earlier than 15 minutes before the time of the tea (or as noted in the tea description). Of note\, there is an artillery shell in the wall near the entrance of the building.  Jane\, the wife of the bed and breakfast’s owner\, prepares the tea of: \n\nFour sandwiches\,\nMicrosalad\,\nThree desserts\, and\nChoice of teas.\n\nReserve early since this new-to-the-club tearoom only seats 35. After or before tea\, take a stroll around Gettysburg for history\, shopping\, and charm. \nMobility: There is parking on High and Washington streets. Note: There is metered parking in front of the property but free parking in the next block. There are 15 steps from the street to the tearoom entrance\, however there are no steps in the rear of the building (so have the driver drop you off there before parking the car).
